This painting is based off a dream I had in which I was fearful, then suddenly out of the darkness, the Lord came and immediately I fell to my knees because He was was so bright and Holy. He rescued me from the darkness and terror of the night. If you look closely enough, you will see the profile of a girls face at the bottom and the figure of a man at the top.

This piece symbolizes several things. Many people go through life in a sleeping state, unknowingly. This painting illustrates the beauty of the process of waking from eternal sleep (John 1). This piece also references Revelation 21, which says, "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain...".

Years after painting this, I stumbled upon this verse. The stars I painted are in the shape of late figs.
